Here for you

Whether you’re navigating a childhood milestone, facing a challenge as a family, or seeking guidance around behavioural or developmental needs, we’re here to support you. With a wealth of experience, our team is always ready to help with whatever your family may be navigating.

Working together

From the moment you join The Learning Tree Kindergarten, you become part of our family. We ensure every child feels safe, content, and inspired—and this extends to our parents and carers too!

Before each child starts, we offer settling‑in sessions so they can meet their room team and become comfortable with their new environment. During these sessions, we gather key information such as dietary needs, sleep routines, and play preferences to help us follow each child’s familiar routine from home.

As they grow with us, your child will have a dedicated key person in each room, who supports their individual needs and works closely with you through each stage of their nursery journey, right up to their transition to school.

Stay connected to your child's learning

We understand that our parents lead busy lives, which is why we use FAMLY (our Nursery Software) for nursery communication, invoicing and well as to record each child’s time at The Learning Tree. Every parent receives a secure, PIN‑protected login to a handy and user friendly app, giving you access to photos, videos, and observations, as well as your child’s developmental progress. For our younger children, you can also track nappy changes, meals, and sleep times throughout the day.

We encourage parents to contribute to their child’s FAMLY record from home by adding photos, videos, and your own observations. This helps us build a well-rounded picture of your child’s learning and development.

Alongside the app, our team provides face‑to‑face updates at pick‑up every day, ensuring you always feel informed and connected to your child’s day.

Reports

All children will receive two written reports during their time at The Learning Tree.

2-Year-Old Progress Check
In line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory guidelines, each child aged approximately 24–36 months will be reviewed by our early years practitioners. You will receive a written summary outlining your child’s progress across the three Prime Areas of Learning:

  • Communication and Language

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (PSED)

  • Physical Development

This report supports a shared understanding of your child’s development at home and helps us work in partnership with health visitors where appropriate.

Preschool Transition to School Report
Before your child moves on to school, we will complete a transition report summarising their progress, development, and next steps against all 7 areas of learning as detailed in the EYFS;

  • Communication and language.

  • Personal, social and emotional development.

  • Physical development.

  • Literacy.

  • Mathematics.

  • Understanding the world.

  • Expressive arts and design.

This report is shared with your child’s new school to support a smooth and confident transition.

Twice a year, we hold parent consultations for all children using the online platform SchoolCloud. These meetings provide a personal, two‑way conversation between parents and our Early Years practitioners, focusing on each child’s development, progress, and next steps. The aim is to ensure strong home–nursery communication and to work together to support every child’s learning journey.

Parent evenings

We are continually looking for ways to evolve and enhance the smooth running of our nursery, ensuring the very best experience for our children and their families. We always welcome comments, ideas, and suggestions from parents and carers.

Would you like to get involved? Perhaps you have a particular skill or talent you’d be happy to share with the children. Maybe you play a musical instrument, speak another language, or have a hobby the children would enjoy learning about. If so, we’d love to hear from you.
